Every Baby Wants to Breastfeed
But sometimes there are hang-ups. You are not the only one! Please see this article: "My Baby Just Doesn't Get It" by Diane Wiessinger on the Resources page.
Know that you are not alone in your struggles! Find competent help and support. For a compassionate, gentle, and hands-off approach, call for an appointment, then bring your questions and concerns to get the reassurance you are needing.
Personalized breastfeeding consultation may include history taking for mother and infant, exam of mother and infant, feedback on latching skills, weight check, encouragement, and assistance with a feeding plan you can live with. In case of significant findings, a report to the mother and/or baby's physician may be sent.
Written information and follow-up call ARE inclusive in the first consultation fee.
Breast pump rentals available. Many insurance companies reimburse for these services; a coded receipt for insurance purposes will be supplied that you can submit for reimbursement.
Please read the following excellent reference to find out about your patient rights and expectations when working with a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC): Bill of Rights for Clients Seeking Lactation Consultation (find this document on Resources Page).
